EMWD Awarded $36M Grant To Improve Local Groundwater Quality

Perris, CA (October 21, 2019) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) was recently awarded $36.3 million in grant funding from the State Water Resources Control Board, the largest grant in EMWD’s history.

The funding is a significant step toward the advancement of EMWD’s proposed Perris North Groundwater Program, which is a long term solution to improve groundwater quality in the North Perris Groundwater Basin, in the Moreno Valley area. The program would also make beneficial use of available local groundwater supplies, up to 6,700 acre-feet per year, further reducing reliance on imported water supplies.

EMWD Helps Students Stay Hydrated As Classes Begin

Perris, CA (August 26, 2019) — As students across the region begin going back to school this month, it’s a good time to make sure their back-to-school supplies include a reusable water bottle.

This fall, EMWD will complete work on installing water bottle fill stations at every school within EMWD’s service area that has requested one. These stations allow students and teachers to easily refill water bottles and stay hydrated with safe and reliable tap water.
