EMWD Launches Digital Wallet to Expand Online Payment Options

Perris, CA (April 18, 2024) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) customers now have additional ways to pay their water bills.

This month, EMWD debuted a new feature that allows customers to pay their bills through digital wallets, including Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and Venmo. In the first week of the program, more than 500 customers used the new service to pay their bills.

EMWD Upgraded to AAA Credit Rating

Perris, CA (March 20, 2024) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD)’s commitment to financial excellence has been recognized when it received another AAA credit rating this week by one of the major rating agencies.

S&P Global Ratings (S&P), one of the three major rating agencies, raised EMWD’s long-term rating on water and wastewater revenue bonds to AAA from AA+. S&P also assigned its AAA/A-1 rating to EMWD’s Series 2024A refunding water and wastewater revenue bonds.

EMWD Receives National Honor for Recycled Water Outreach Program

Perris, CA (March 18, 2024) — Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) received national recognition for its recycled water outreach and education program when it was presented with the Award of Excellence from the WateReuse Association.

This marks the third consecutive year that EMWD has received a national Award of Excellence from WateReuse, a professional organization which advocates for the advancing of laws, policies and funding to increase the use of recycled water.

The award was presented at the 2024 WateReuse Symposium in Denver.

EMWD Tap Water Wins Multi-State Taste Test

Perris, CA (March 8, 2024) — Eastern Municipal Water District’s (EMWD) tap water is not only safe and reliable, but it is also award-winning.

EMWD was recently selected as the best-tasting tap water at the recent Multi-State Salinity Coalition conference in Denver, where it beat out competitors from a total of five states.

EMWD bested entrants from Texas, Maryland, Montana and Colorado for the top honors.

Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) is celebrating World Toilet Day on November 19 by showing its appreciation to the role the porcelain thrones play in protecting public and environmental health throughout not only our service area, but the world.

EMWD operates the region’s wastewater collection system and treats nearly 46 million gallons of wastewater each day. And a portion of that originates at hundreds of thousands of toilets throughout EMWD’s service area.
