Water is life. Protect it! Poster.

Perris, CA (March 12, 2019) — Each year, Eastern Municipal Water District’s (EMWD) Education Program sponsors a poster contest for grade school students within its service area and the winners are submitted for consideration to be included in The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s (MWD) annual Water Is Life calendar.

EMWD is asking for the community’s help once again in selecting the top five posters from a group of 18 finalists. The deadline for voting is April 20, 2019 and the winners will be announced at EMWD’s annual student recognition event.

The theme of this year’s contest is “Let’s All ‘Bee’ Savvy About Water Conservation.”

To view the finalists and select your favorites, please visit www.emwd.org/pick5posters.

At least one poster from EMWD’s service area will be featured in the 2020 Water Is Life calendar produced by MWD. Those winners will be announced this fall.

Finalists include artwork from students in transitional kindergarten through fifth grade. School districts represented include Menifee Union, Nuview Union, San Jacinto Unified, Hemet Unified, Murrieta Valley Unified, Perris Elementary, Temecula Valley Unified, Moreno Valley Unified, Romoland, Val Verde Unified, and a private school.

EMWD’s award-winning education program reaches approximately 60,000 students annually with water conservation and related stewardship messages through a variety of classroom and field trip programs.
